Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas plans to participate in a landmark case on the health care law – even though he has a direct financial stake in its failure. Justice Thomas needs to recuse himself.

How blatant is Justice Thomas’ conflict of interest? Justice Thomas’s wife has earned hundreds of thousands of dollars lobbying to kill the law, and she’ll continue to line her pockets if her husband overturns the law. Seventy-four members of Congress urged Justice Thomas to recuse himself from any decision regarding the ACA.

Enough is enough! More than 30,000 people have already signed a petition calling on Justice Thomas to recuse himself. Can you join them now?

Our Feb. 18 volunteer training will include information on setting timelines and goals, targeting “swing” precincts, recruiting and keeping volunteers, and tips on phoning and walking.

Many of those who were there were able to connect or re-connect with activists from across the state, listen to some of their favorite elected officials speak, and begin planning for this year’s campaigns. Delegates and members of the Amador County Democratic Central Committee were in attendance; Helen Page, Liz Mc Culloch, Judy Hotchkiss, Marcie and Randy Bayne, Caryl Callsen and Brian Gray, and Sally Trestrail.

Senator Al Franken (D-MN) speak at this year’s Saturday night dinner, was a highlight.  Listen to  Senator Al Franken’s Speech and be ready to be inspired!

As far as SB810, the Universal Health Care for CA, this bill is just about dead for this session. It was defeated because 4 Democratic Senators abstained and the bill went down to defeat. If 2 had voted yes, the bill would have gone to the Assembly. The DINOs have receive mega bucks from the insurance companies to their campaigns. the  Democratic Club of Amador County plans on being more involved this year regarding this issue.
